When can I schedule a telehealth appointment?

You can schedule a telehealth appointment at Doctor’s Own Urgent Care if you need urgent medical care for an injury or acute illness. Your doctor connects with you directly through videoconferencing technology to assess your symptoms and determine if you need an in-office visit.

Your doctor can also meet with you virtually for other medical services, including:

• Follow-up visits
• Medication management
• Behavioral health assessments
• Chronic disease monitoring
• Prescription refills

What happens during a telehealth appointment?

Ahead of your telehealth appointment, the Doctor’s Own Urgent Care staff provides the information you need to log into the platform on your smartphone, computer, laptop, or tablet. You can meet with your doctor anywhere, provided you have a strong, reliable internet connection.

On the day of your telehealth appointment, you connect to the secure platform to meet one-on-one with your Doctor’s Own Urgent Care physician. They review your health history and discuss the reason for your appointment.

If you need lab tests or have issues your doctor can’t address remotely, they may recommend you come to the office for a physical exam. They can also refer you to a specialist for further care.

Depending on the reason for your visit, your doctor might schedule follow-up telehealth appointments to ensure any treatment you’re using works well. They can also use the online platform to refill your medication prescription or modify your existing treatment plan.
